Second time lucky? So, we have been plagued by technical problems these last few weeks, including a discussion of this episode (Season Three, Episode 23) of the Next Gen. As not to waste the tiny amount of prep we put into the 'lost' show, we decided to do a commentary track, so watch the ep and synch up the episode to watch along. Also on the tech front, we experimented with some new kit and it was a total failure so apologies for the slightly abrasive audio quality (back to normal next ep) Check out the knew CvsP affiliated show 'The ABFMcast' here: www.abfmcast.podomatic.com Don’t forget that older episodes are archived at www.csvsp.libsyn.com (cheers Kelly!) June 20, 2011 11:22 AM PDT
As the PSA at the outset will clarify, it's a short one this week as our editing software ate the 'what we've watched' section, and the sound quality is a little sub-par due to associated tech-fails (still listen-able though I reckon, says I) What you DO get is a discussion of Sam Raimi's debut, and Mary Whitehouse-baiting splatterfest. WARNING: THIS IS A SPOILERIFIC DISCUSSION This week we delve into the murky world of the 'found footage' sub-genre with last years Norwegian monster movie 'The Troll Hunter' The discussion expands out to a discussion of the new film grammar that has risen out of this new form and all of the good and bad associated.. We seem to have reached the point where we hit our monthly bandwith limit every two weeks, so get this ep while its hot as we cannot afford the upgrade (#cough, Paypal link on podomatic page, #cough) Live show this Saturday Got a live show this weekend (Saturday 26th) we will be kicking off at 11PM (UK) which (I believe) is 6PM (Eastern) Join us in the chat (or just listen) at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/cvsp-live We REALLY need some iTunes reviews so search for us in the iTunes store and hit us up.. Episode 128: “Non-Live, Live Show: The BEST” Confused yes? Ok here’s the skinny, we were gonna do a live show this month, but the tech (and scheduling) conspired so we went ahead with the recording, but didn’t broadcast it live over Ustream. As per ‘real’ live show’s it is a ‘topic’ show this week as we discuss the concept of ‘the best’. We have all seen the lists of “The best film of all time...” and this poses many questions.. Do we agree with them? Who writes these things? Are ‘favourite’ and ‘best’ different? Should they be? Do we care? Did we do ANY planning for this show?? Throw in a displaced chat about our recent viewing and some listener feedback and it almost feels like a podcast...

This show originally went out live at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/cvsp-live This week we take some listener feedback, have fun on Twitter and have a chinwag with the chat-room. Topics covered you ask? Paul FINALLY catches The Walking Dead and Inception, Mike talks Harry Potter 7a, and we get into a lengthy discussion about budget vs content, with a couple of side roads into how 'expectations' can ruin films.... This episode is pretty much as recorded, so there is no fanciness or production value AT ALL, it be here in it's crappy glory... Remember, we will be live at the above address on the last Saturday night of every month.... Feedback/contribute with your mouth:
